A report from the open day on the 2nd September 2018 at the Kent House Leisure Gardens Charity Day by David Pipe.
The Flow Hive demonstration by Michael Coen on a fine morning at KHLGA, produced a lot of interest, not only amongst the Bromley Beekeepers, but also members of the public who’d seen that the hive was on show and that there was local honey for sale.
Thanks to the KHLG plotholders and BBKA members, tea, home made cakes and freshly cooked pancakes were provided and the 1 lb and 1/2 lb jars of local honey on sale were snapped up by the visitors and plotholders.
For the children, the observation hive proved extremely popular, as always.
The concensus was that this ‘pop-up’ Bee Keepers’ Openday at the allotment, organised by Bob Jackman and Mary Slater, was thoroughly enjoyed and a great success.
